Scam Awareness
EZArtTrader was solely designed to advertise art for artists, private parties, and art dealers. Unfortunately we have to take precautions to avoid becoming victims of a scam.
Precautions to follow:
EZArtTrader does not handle, guarantee, or take liability for any dealings or transactions between the buyer and the seller.
Local transactions
When meeting for transaction, it is best to meet in a public place. It may also be a good idea to bring someone else along with you.
Bring along a copy of the listings to prevent any confusion about the transaction
Distant transactions
Dealing in person is the BEST way to avoid being scammed. However, opportunities for great art or good deals aren’t always local.
Our suggestion is to use PayPal for distant transactions because PayPal is an independent third party who transfers funds from the buyer to the seller, and there's an electronic paper trail left if something goes wrong.
Another method of transferring money if the seller agrees is to use a trusted escrow service such as escrow.com. An escrow service works as a third party and does not transfer your payment to the seller until the item has been received. Just be careful that the escrow service you agree on is a reputable one and not one developed by the scammers themselves, which is actually quite common.
